Our previous graduates

Chris Webb

I was attracted to apetito as it provided me with the opportunity to work for an organisation that has a clear sense of purpose. It also struck me as an exciting innovative company to work for, as demonstrated by our Queens Awards for Innovation. apetito also had several success stories from previous graduates, who had joined the business a few years earlier and had already made huge progress in their respective careers. The recruitment process itself further cemented my opinion that apetito would be a great organisation work for. The process was thorough, and also presented the chance to meet many of the senior team, who were all big advocates of giving graduates the opportunity to excel. Following a successful interview process, I ended up joining the company in September 2014.

My development during the graduate programme

I started my time at apetito as a Sales and Marketing Graduate within Specialist Nutrition. I managed a project developing a new sales channel for the provision of texture modified diets to small care homes. Within this role I was responsible for the development of the business model, as well as executing the day to day front line sales within the care home sector and ongoing account management. I was giving lots of responsibility and scope to manage the project and use my initiative from the outset. With plenty of opportunities to discuss the project and receive feedback on the progress being made with my immediate line manager, as well as the Executive Board. During my time as a Sales and Marketing Graduate I also managed a Queens Award application, which resulted in the business winning the prestigious Innovation category for Business Enterprise. I am currently working on an exciting new project in United States, which has allowed me to put everything I have learnt so far at apetito into practice.
apetito has provided lots of opportunities for development and training. When I started I had the opportunity to have three days sales coaching to assist with my new role, which was hugely beneficial. I have also attended two Impact Factory courses; their Presentation Skills and their Communicating with Impact courses. I have also been fortunate enough to take part in apetito’s flagship Leadership Development Programme called Further Managing Self and Others to assist with both personal development and leadership skills. The company have also been great in helping build up my knowledge base to assist with my roles, including allowing me to complete a course in Nutrition and Dysphagia training.
