Mike Larter - Director Human Resources

Mike joined team apetito in 2006 as HR Director.

Mike started his career as a Management Trainee at British Rail in Scotland with the intention of qualifying as an accountant, a traditional Larter family career.

However, after 2 years he decided that he preferred people to numbers, and joined a young team whose responsibility it was to computerise the British Rail Payroll.

Mike later joined Philips as Payroll Manager, and spent 4 years there, ending as Commercial Manager, which he left to study Business Studies with HR Management.

Mike then spent the next 7 years as HR Commercial Manager at British Underwater Engineering Lts, where he controlled a fleet of ships and miniature submarines around the world, working for the oil industry and government office. During this time he had the pleasure of supplying ships and submarines for two James Bond films!

Latterly Mike spent 16 years as HR Executive for UK and Ireland within Sodexho Business & Industry and Sodexho Facilities management.

Mike is married with two sons and now two granddaughters. His hobbies include golf, travel, cricket and gardening.
