Nutrition in Dysphagia

Texture modified food enables people with dysphagia to consume the nutrients they require.  apetito's new range of texture modified meals and desserts deliver superior levels of nutrition meeting national guidelines including the Health of the Nation and National Association for Care Caterers (NACC), and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards for care homes.

Sue Baic“Individuals who find it challenging to eat, chew or swallow risk suffering dehydration, malnutrition and weight loss. Our range of texture-modified meals is visually appealing and doesn’t compromise on flavour and nutrition.  This means our customers are more likely to consume dishes to enhance recovery and maintain wellbeing.”
Sue Baic MSc RD, Consultant Dietician

apetito's range of texture modified meals and desserts meet national guidelines for texture modification in adults, categories B, C and D (written by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and British Dietetic Association).  As an individual’s dysphagic condition changes they may require a different category. With the apetito range, your customers can enjoy a wide variety of meals that compare favourably with meals from previous categories, as well as discovering tasty new dishes.

Our meals provide a superior level of nutrition to those of our competitors, and we’ve also reduced the saturated fats and sodium in each and every meal.
